Electronics and Communication Engineering Department - Methodist College of Engineering a& Technology | Top Engineering College in Hyderabad| Best Engineering College in Telangana

Welcome to Electronics and Communication Engineering Department

Electronics and Communication Engineering  came into existence  in the year 2008 with an intake of 60 and  later in 2010 it was enhanced to 120 . The dept has  successfully completed 10 long years of  sincere service as a dedicated team of 21 faculty, 05 technical staff, and  focused student fraternity of 300  with a student teacher ratio of 1:15 .  The strength of the department lies in  our competent, experienced  faculty from industry and academia with an average teaching experience of 6 years. The department runs a four year UG Programme in  Electronics & communication Engineering .  Being the  fastest growing  discipline of Engineering , the domain must include a right blend of  Engineering sciences, fundamental sciences and social & human sciences. The present scheme referred as Choice based credit system (CBCS) provides the choice for students to choose core, electives, minor electives, ability enhancement courses etc. from prescribed courses and thus  helpful in developing a student -centric approach. The student evaluation is based on  credit system rather than the conventional marking system.

Electronics and Communication Engineering  compiles core Electronics with communication Enginnering . The discipline deals with core courses in Electronic devices and circuits, Electromagnetics, Digital electronics, Signals and systems, Communication engineering, Microprocessors and microcontrollers, Automatic control systems, and Digital signal processing. Further extends to advanced courses like RADAR, VLSI and Embedded systems, Optical communication etc. The applications of Electronics field are far reaching, right from the indoors of the house to industries, which includes not only improving the functionality and technology of existing systems but also developing new systems and new technology.

The well equipped lab spaces  provide  the essential hands-on trainings  helpful in building minor and  major projects. The students are encouraged to evolve in their interested domains through   various in-house trainings, knowledge transfer workshops, value added courses, expert lectures and project exhibitions. They are motivated to improve their communication & written skills through special trainings.  The students take initiative in organizing  the activities under IETE, IEEE and  TECHSPACE clubs. The staff & student  publish monthly magazine named PEACE- Power of Electronics & Communication Engineering covering both technical and non-technical domains.
